Master of Wine / Annual Champagne Tasting 2008
The Institute of Masters of Wine is pleased to invite you to the 2008 Annual Champagne Tasting to be held in both New York (September 15th) and in San Francisco (September 22nd). These events promise to continue to be among the premier wine tasting events of the year, held at the outset of the holiday season under optimal conditions in the heart of the best markets in the United States for champagne. In New York, the tickets will be SOLD, as in the past, for either one of two tasting slots, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, and from 2:30 pm until 4:30 pm. Due to the constraints of the venue, there will be a single session in San Francisco from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Cost of the tickets for either event will be $50.00. THERE ARE NO DISCOUNTS THIS YEAR FOR WINE STUDENTS. This tasting will feature a broad survey of champagne currently on the market from every category: non-vintage, vintage, rosé, blanc de blancs, prestige cuvée, and sweeter (dosé) styles, including extra-sec, sec, demi-sec, and riche. Wines will be tasted from the most well-known and established houses along with exciting small growers, and will include many rare and difficult to procure bottlings. Tickets for this event will be sold strictly on a first come, first served basis, and since the number of places is limited, we encourage you to respond promptly. Please see our notice for the appropriate dates at http://www.localwineevents.com/. In the event of any questions regarding this tasting, please do not hesitate to contact us by sending an email to charles@curtismw.com.
